Vacancy for Show Trophy Secretary

After several years of carefully looking after and polishing the range of show trophies ready for their next winners, our existing show trophy secretary has decided it is time to hand the reigns to someone else from this show year.  There will be a full handover from the existing trophy secretary, including all files (previous hard copy records and digital templates) with a full run down of what’s required will be provided in the first year.   If this vacancy would be of interest to you, please contact the Show Secretary, Antonia Read for more information.

SHOW TROPHY SECRETARY JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB PROFILE:

To ensure the show trophies are available and presentable on Skelton Show day

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

The full organization and preparation of the show trophy collection including the following duties:

• Keep trophy database and show winner records up-to-date including chasing up of the missing trophies
• Collect and store show trophies in a timely manner ready for the presentation to new winners on show day
• Chase the return of outstanding trophies prior to show day and agree collection points in advance ie Harrison & Hetherington mart
• Maintain and repair any damaged trophies in advance of show day
• Ensure trophies are polished and clean ready for the new winner to receive 
• Prepare the trophy cup display ready for presentation
• Attend the show day

Administration throughout the year will also include:

• Sending out letters requesting the return of the trophy – usually in May
• Paperwork for show day – all amended with additions of trophies/amended class numbers etc – ready to go to the printers
• Record winners (with addresses and contact details) for the following year
• Chase up any trophies you have left at the end of show day to check if the winner wants them; arrange delivery if they do
