Sponsorship Secretary

We are recruiting! The Skelton Show committee is recruiting a new Sponsorship Secretary for 2023.

The role is an important one, contributing to the overall success of the show and the person appointed will be fully supported by other committee members and colleagues. The position is voluntary with a small honorary paid annually.

The Purpose
To maintain and increase the number of show sponsors and to be responsible for the administration of such in liaison with other show officials.

The Role

• Review current Sponsors and develop new target list with Chairman/Director
• Consider imaginative ways to increase sponsorship and help organise better promotion of sponsorship opportunities with Marketing and Publicity Officer
• Proactively promote sponsorship opportunities to increase revenue
• Sponsorship can be general, by class, catalogue advert and ringside banner
• Maintain Excel sponsorship database for above
• Use online payment system to track electronic applications and payments
• Prepare sponsorship letters and invoices for trade stands in liaison with Trade Stand Co-ordinator.(Jan)
• Prepare annual sponsorship letters and invoices for remainder in liaison with Secretary/Treasurer (Feb) and send out
• Ensure sponsorships agreed (and ideally paid) by end of March and work with secretary to ensure firms sponsoring are correctly acknowledged in the show schedule (April)
• Liaise with those wanting an advert in show catalogue to ensure artwork received and sent to printers by middle of June
• Arrange erection of banners around ringside (day before show)
• Prepare list of sponsors for the website and show catalogue by mid June
• Assist Secretary in sending out sponsor badges etc in mid June
• Get to know sponsors and thanks/entertain sponsors on showday
• Assist Treasurer to chase any unpaid sponsorship to ensure payments up to date before end of financial year on 31 October
