During the years the band has won almost every major trophy at numerous contests and championships aroound the UK. Since 1990 the Derby Midshipmen Band have entered over 100 contests and have never been out of the top three places having obtained 83% of these in first place. Some of the band’s most prestigious bookings include playing for Her Royal Highness the Queen at Epsom Derby Day, on the hallowed turf of Wembley Football Stadium, the London Arena and the Edinburgh Festival Cavalcade. In 2001 the band gained its status as a Registered Charity helping its work in raising money for local and national charities by performing in concerts and cabarets.
